Tuesday 21 January marked a historic date for Porto Nogaro, where the loading operations of a mega plant built by Danieli and destined for the American steel giant Nucor took place. With over 600 packages, almost 5,000 tonnes of weight and a volume of 8,000 cubic metres, the operation represents one of the most significant loads ever managed in the Friulian port. The order concerns a rolling plant for sheet metal coils based on the “DUE” (Danieli Universal Endless) technology, an innovative solution that allows the production of steel strips with thicknesses ranging from 1 to 24 millimeters using a single plant, where traditionally they would have been two needed.
