Orlen group takes over Czech plastics recycler Remaq

Czech chemicals group Orlen Unipetrol announced on 22 September that had entered an agreement to take over the Czech plastics recycler Remaq. No financial details about the transaction were released. Orlen expects the deal to close by the end of March 2023. Otrokovice-based Remaq was founded in 2004 and started out as a recycled plastics trading firm and commissioned its first regranulating line in 2009. It now has four repelletising lines with a total capacity of nearly 29,000 tonnes a year of recycled polypropylene, polystyrene and polyethylene.
